This descriptive study was adopted using a mixed-methods approach containing quantitative and qualitative data; beside that, an interview and a questionnaire were utilized to gather data. The data collected from the questionnaire was analyzed using SPSS version 20. All the interview recordings conducted on students were transcribed from the interview. The results show that English major sophomores and juniors are well aware of the importance of listening comprehension and have a lot of trouble related to speed of delivery, unfamiliar vocabulary, environment, concentration, missed signals, and health. In addition, from the data collected through the interviews, there are opinions that the frequency of students’ listening practice, their practice method of listening and their personal emotions also had a significant impact on their abilities. Some solutions offered to overcome the problems; needs to upgrade the listening classroom’s facilities; teachers should use materials from other sources besides coursebooks, support students in English-thinking practices and note-taking skills, provide authentic listening materials, and organize the material context according to students’ level.
